For
nearly 125 years, Champion graders were built and maintained roads around the world. In 1875 Champion built
the first horse-drawn grader. Since then, the innovations have been
revolutionary within the industry. The first self-propelled grader
and, later, the first all-hydraulic grader, was a Champion. In 1975,
the Champion Series I grader was introduced to the industry, followed in
1984 by Series II, in 1989 by Series III, in 1994 by Series IV, and in 1997
by Series V. Each series gave both the contractor and governmental
user more efficient, more advanced technology and methods for higher and
higher productivity.
Champion motor graders were designed, and built at a manufacturing complex in Goderich, ON, Canada, from where they were shipped to 97 countries worldwide. In 1997, Champion Road Machinery Ltd. was acquired by Volvo Construction Equipment Group.
The
Champion Antique Grader Club has restored many Champion Motor Graders as can be seen in the current projects.
